CreateCV.io is committed to making our platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to tools that help advance their careers, and we continuously work to improve the accessibility and usability of our Service.

Accessibility is not an afterthought at CreateCV.io — it is an integral part of our design and development process. We aim to remove barriers so that all users can create, edit, and download professional resumes and cover letters independently.

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including:

• Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
• Hearing impairments
• Motor impairments
• Cognitive and neurological disabilities

WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility and is referenced by regulations such as the European Accessibility Act, Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

We implement the following accessibility practices across CreateCV.io:

• Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML elements (headings, landmarks, lists, buttons, forms) to ensure that screen readers and other assistive technologies can accurately interpret page structure and content.
• Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements — including buttons, links, form fields, menus, and modal dialogs — are fully operable using a keyboard alone. You can navigate the entire application without a mouse.
• ARIA Labels and Attributes: Where native HTML semantics are insufficient, we use WAI-ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes to provide additional context to assistive technologies.
• Sufficient Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA minimum contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) in both light and dark themes.
• Responsive Design: The Service is fully responsive and adapts to different screen sizes, orientations, and zoom levels. Content remains accessible at up to 200% browser zoom.
• Screen Reader Compatibility: We test with major screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) to ensure content is read correctly and in a logical order.
• Focus Management: We manage focus state deliberately, especially when content changes dynamically (such as opening modals, navigating between steps, or loading new content). Visible focus indicators are provided for all interactive elements.
• Alternative Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies.
• Error Identification: Form validation errors are clearly identified and described in text, associated with the relevant input field, and announced to screen readers.

While we strive for full accessibility, we are aware of the following limitations that we are actively working to address:

• PDF Resume Preview: The in-browser PDF preview of your resume may have limited screen reader support. The visual preview is rendered as a canvas element, which is inherently difficult for screen readers to interpret. We provide alternative access to resume content through the editor itself, and downloaded PDFs include text layers for accessibility.
• Template Visual Customization: Some template customization features (such as color selection and layout adjustments) rely on visual interaction. We provide text labels and descriptions where possible, but some design choices may require visual feedback to evaluate effectively.
• Drag-and-Drop: Certain features, such as reordering resume sections, support drag-and-drop interaction. We provide keyboard-accessible alternatives (move up/down buttons) for all drag-and-drop functionality.
• Third-Party Integrations: Some third-party components (such as the Stripe payment form) have their own accessibility implementations that we cannot fully control. We select providers who prioritize accessibility and advocate for improvements.

We are actively working to address these limitations. If you encounter any of these issues or others, please let us know.

CreateCV.io is designed to work with a wide range of assistive technologies. We test and optimize for compatibility with:

• Screen Readers: NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS). We also aim for compatibility with TalkBack (Android).
• Keyboard Navigation: Full keyboard access is supported across all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
• Browser Zoom: Content remains readable and functional at up to 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling on standard screen sizes.
• High Contrast Mode: The Service is compatible with system-level high contrast modes on Windows and macOS.
• Voice Control: Interactive elements are labeled to support voice control software such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking and Voice Control (macOS).
